CTK P3
Ultimate Gun Vise

| I use the P3 Ultimate
Shooting Rest quite a bit. I recently got an
upgrade to it. The the lastest version of the P3 Ultimate Gun Vise is
an
attachment for the P3 Shooting Rest. The older model of the P3
had the vise
attachment on the same tubular steel as the shooting rest is based on.
It made changing from the vise to the rest a bit of work, as the rear
leg had to be disassembled and removed to change from one to another. Curt at CTK recently sent me an upgrade to the new model of rear vise attachment. It is exactly what was needed to make the P3 system even better. The major change in the rear vise attachment is that the base is now a two-piece design. It is split to allow the installation and removal of the attachment without having to disassemble the P3.
To install the new attachment you simply loosen the vise a bit and squeeze the top of the vise. The split tubing opens up and slides over the P3 frame. Once the vise is installed it works just like it did before. You just adjust the vise to the length you would like, place the firearm or part in how you want it held and tighten the handle on the vise to snug it down. There is one major plus with the new attachment as well. The grip the vise has on the frame of the P3 is far stronger with the new attachment then it was with the old. There is a lot more surface area in contact with the P3 frame now. The vice still holds everything in my collection without a problem. Even the large ‘Ultimate Sniper’ stock on the Savage 12FV easily fits with room to spare. I think this new version of the P3 vise is top notch. Another great idea from CTK!!!
